I worked in the Specification Office at Standard from 1966-1972 when I left to have my son. My dad worked in the drawing office for 40 years (as his dad did before him) before he retired around 1980. My husband worked in the Rocket Range, Top Shop, No.15 shop and No.21 shop around 1974. I have great memories of my time working there.

66 men were killed serving in the Great War and their names are inscribed on the memorial stone by the promenade at London Road Cemetery. Inscription: Erected in loving memory of our comrades who gave their lives for liberty in the Great War 1914-1918 by the staff and employees of the Triumph and Gloria companies.
