Christmas 1969 – Love in the Air Part 2

Love certainly was in the air at Christmas 1969 as all these workers at Standard Triumph were married. This is Part Two.

John Harvey
John Harvey, Paint Sprayer, Allesley

John Harvey, a paint sprayer at Allesley for five years married Sister Audrey Arnold of the Surgery. On behalf of John’s workmates Mr Jack Male presented a sum of money.

Mike Smith
Mike Smith, Allesley

Mike Smith, ex-trainee at London, now at Allesley service centre. was married in Cornwall. On behalf of Mike’s colleagues. Mr. W. Wills, Chief Receptionist. presented an electric toaster, etc. with every ones good wishes.

Rosaleen Shorthouse
Rosaleen Shorthouse, Overseas Manufacturing Dept.

Miss Rosaleen Shorthouse was married at Westwood Heath Church. Mr. G. W. Key, Overseas Manufacturing Manager, presented Rosaleen with a clock, vase and glassware from the department and shop floor. Rosaleen has been Mr. Key’s secretary for four years. She thanked everyone for the presents.

Kathleen Cassidy
Kathleen Cassidy, Packer CKD

Miss Kathleen Cassidy, a packer in CKD. body shop, was married at All Souls, Hearsall Common. Foreman John Rowley presented an ironing table. Teflonware and kitchen items from her workmates. Kathleen was very pleased.
