Trevor Worthington – Apprentice of the Year 1962

Apprenticed 1958-63 and Apprentice of the Year in 1962.
Selected to go to VW on an exchange visit organised by the Institute of The Motor Industry 1964. I joined the Quality Department in 1964, became Quality Service Liaison Engineer then Investigation Supervisor located in the dungeon under the Spares Department.

I was involved with all aspects from resolving problems with both Manufacturing and Engineering, visiting Swindon, Speke, Forward Radiator’s and product suppliers, ie Wilmot Breedon, Lucas, Girling, Lockhead, Laycock, plus others. Then New Product Quality Executive in 1973 covering the Quality sign off of the TR8.

Moved to Land Rover as Quality Engineering Manager when the Companies split up and looked after the new Land Rover and four door Range Rover stayed with the company becoming the Total Quality Manager and finally Facilities Manager of the new design studio at Gaydon retiring in 1999.
