I am Coventry Kid now living in Dorset. I worked at Standard Motors from 1931-38 starting to learn car trimming.
They were happy times.
Our Managing Director was Sir John Black. Once a year he gave the trim shop girls a lovely ballroom dance which was held in the social club which is still in the Standard grounds.
I have lived in Dorset for 17 years, after my husband died.
I went to South Street school and was born in East Street when I was Winnifred Pratley. Now I am Winnifred Quinn and lived in Sir Henry Parkes Road before moving to Dorset.
